Brid is a lecturer in accountancy in the DCU Business School and teaches mainly in the area of auditing and ethics.She is chairperson of the DCU MSc in Accounting. Her principal research interests explore the accounting profession, professional accounting education, continuing professional development and ethics in the context of the accounting profession.
Brid is a fellow member of Chartered Accountants Ireland and completed her accountancy training with PwC. She has also worked as an accounting practitioner in Ireland and overseas in a variety of small, medium and large companies.
Brid graduated from University College Cork with a Bachelor of Commerce and from University College Dublin with a Master of Accounting. She completed her PhD studies in Sheffield Hallam University, exploring perceptions and practices pertaining to continuing professional development within the accounting profession.
