Biographical Details

Dr Kirrane is an Organisational Psychologist and gained her degrees in Psychology, Organisational Psychology and Psychoanalysis from the National University of Ireland and The Queen's University of Belfast. She is a Registered and Chartered Organisational Psychologist and is Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. She is also a member of PSI, EAWOP and SIOP. She lectures predominantly in the areas of Organisational Psychology, including Selection and Assessment, Leadership & Decision-Making, Employee Well-Being and Change Management, mainly at postgraduate level. Her research interests include diversity & inclusion, leadership, the role of personality at work and unconscious drivers of dysfunctional behaviour. She has delivered papers at national and international conferences including the Academy of Management, Society of Industrial & Organisational Psychology, European Association of Work & Organisational Psychology and teh British Academy of Management. Her work has also been published in peer-reviewed national and international journals in these fields including The Journal of Managerial Psychology,  Irish Journal of Applied Social Studies, Journal of Music Education Research and Equal Opportunities International. Melrona is Professor of Leadership at PNU, Riyadh and is visiting Professor of Strategy & Change at Danube University, Vienna.  She is the DCU representative on the Council of Ireland's chapter of the 30% Club and is a member of the Athena SWAN committee at DCU. Melrona consults to a range of organisations across the financial, legal and IT sectors and has worked with many government departments including the Dept of Finance, Justice, Equality & Law Reform and the Dept of Agriculture. Projects she has led include Diversity & Inclusion initiatives, team-building, cultural change and leadership development. She has also been involved in the selection and assessment of senior personnel in the financial services sector for many years. Companies she has worked with include Vodafone, Intel, CIE, Irish Rail, Dublin Fire Brigade,  Dublin Bus,  Aegon International, NTMA, Hudson International and the 30% Club. Melrona is a highly sought-after speaker at industry conferences and has been keynote speaker at the Small Firms Association, IBEC, Zurich, Ericsson, Eir, Women in Business Network and the Retail Federation of Ireland. Her work is regularly cited in The Irish Times and The Sunday Business Post and she is frequently a guest on RTE 'The Business' programme as well as featuring on CKR FM and Shannonside radio.
