A Global Business Student’s Journey: From France to Ireland

Bonjour! Je m’appelle Kimia, and I’m a global business student at DCU embarking on a unique journey that started in France. My first two years were spent at Neoma Business School on the vibrant campus in Reims. Neoma’s academic environment is characterized by its intimate nature, with modest class sizes fostering a sense of community and contribute to a multifaceted student experience, offering diverse opportunities for engagement.
The faculty at Neoma were remarkably engaged with the students, offering a supportive learning environment supportive. In the first year, we explored  subjects such as accounting, finance, management, marketing, and microeconomics. The daily schedule typically involved three to six hours of classes, covering one or two subjects each day.
For my second year, I delved deeper into these modules before embarking on a transformative six-month internship in Paris, which offered my first insight into working life. During this internship in a Marketing agency, as a Junior Project Manager, I worked with renowned companies such as Nokia, Jack Daniel, and the PepsiCo group. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and found it to be incredibly rewarding
The next chapter of my academic journey began in the September of my third year when I moved to Dublin, Ireland to start the second leg of my dual degree at Dublin City University Business School. I found my accommodation on the All Hallows campus by applying through their website. It was a thrill to know I’d be fully immersed in the Irish experience. Surrounded by international students from the university, I felt a sense of belonging, enhancing my academic and cultural exploration.
Navigating life alone in a foreign land, away from family, has been a profoundly enriching experience. Â My first semester at DCU, I got the opportunity to study modules like operational management, finance, and people management. This year also marked my internship, known here as an “Intra Placement,” where I am currently working as a marketing and communication assistant, learning lots of new skills in the Marketing and Communications department at DCU Business School.
Ireland, with its warm hospitality and rich history, welcomed me graciously and I have made lots of new friends. Â Exploring the city has been a joy, and I’m eager to delve even deeper into the culture. As I embark on my fourth year, stay tuned for more adventures and discoveries.
Au revoir for now!
