Centre for Family Business Scholar Represents DCU in China
Centre for Family Business scholar, Catherine Faherty, represented Dublin City University at the prestigious Northeastern University (NEU) Postgraduate Summer School in Shenyang, China this summer. She was selected, along with two other PhD scholars, Gavin Browne and Julie Brueckner, to attend the biennial summer school for advanced PhD students.
Forty students from leading universities worldwide participated in the intensive two-week programme in July, attending interactive classes and seminars on various management topics led by well-known professors from within and outside of China. The programme also included management presentations and site tours of leading manufacturing companies in Shenyang.
Commenting on the trip, Catherine said: “I was honoured to be selected to participate in the summer school and represent DCU and our PhD programme. Northeastern is a well-known university with an esteemed faculty. The summer school has provided an excellent opportunity to collaborate with a diverse range of international scholars with different perspectives and outlooks.”
This is the second year that the School of Business Administration at Northeastern University in China fully sponsored the participation of three PhD students from DCU in the summer school. The cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural programme provides a unique opportunity for knowledge exchange and collaboration amongst NEU, DCU and scholars from other universities worldwide.
