DCU Business School Hosts the annual BAFA Accounting Education SIG Conference

Dublin City University Business School was proud to host the 2025 British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) Accounting Education Special Interest Group (SIG) Conference at its St Patrick’s Campus from May 21–23. The annual conference brought together over 150 delegates from 12 countries, representing a wide range of institutions and professional bodies involved in accounting education and research.

Held over three days, the conference provided a platform for academic staff, researchers, and professional partners to share current thinking, emerging research, and innovative teaching practices within the accounting education community. Sessions covered a variety of key topics, including curriculum design, benchmarking standards, student engagement, and the future of accounting education in a rapidly evolving professional landscape.

Keynote addresses were delivered by leading international scholars, alongside a series of panel discussions, research presentations, and networking activities. The event also included contributions from professional accounting bodies, highlighting the vital link between academic practice and professional standards.
