From Classroom to Career: Preparing Our BBS Students for the Workplace

We were delighted to host a workplace professionalism session on Tuesday for our second-year BBS students as they prepare to begin their internships. The session was coordinated by the BS2 Year Head, Joanne Lynch, with valuable support from Programme Chair, Catherine Faherty, INTRA Coordinator Geraldine Farrell, and Teaching Assistant Nicole Dam.

A special thank you to Barry Hughes from Procure Technologies, who delivered a highly engaging keynote address on what professionalism means in practice, the importance of managing a personal brand, and how students can present themselves with confidence in the workplace.

We also had an insightful Q&A with our employer panel – Lisa Kelly and Oïhana AGUILERA from Caceis, Clare Power from Enterprise Ireland, and Declan Hanly from Crowe – who shared their insights on workplace expectations and how students can make the most of their placements.

Finally, our student panel – Molly Fitzpatrick, Ailbhe Smith, Mark Sheridan, and Harry McGrath – offered honest, practical advice based on their own internship experiences, giving the BS2s a realistic and encouraging sense of how to start strong and get the most from the year ahead.
