From Tbilisi to Dublin: Building a Career in Digital Marketing
I am Nini Dzidziguri, from Georgia and I am currently studying for an MSc in Digital Marketing at DCU. Choosing this programme has been one of the best decisions I ever made. My academic background is in public relations, communications, and marketing and I have always been inspired by storytelling and the way marketing can connect people, ideas and cultures together.
Studying at DCU felt like a life-changing opportunity, and without the John Thompson Memorial Scholarship, it wouldn’t have been possible for me to continue my studies in Ireland. Receiving this scholarship has been truly transformative as it allowed me to move to Dublin and fully focus on learning and personal growth. Being associated with John Thompson’s legacy is a real honour, and I am sincerely grateful for the support and belief behind this award. One of the aspects I value most about this programme is its practical focus.
The course gives us the opportunity to work with real business clients and master skills in areas such as SEO, paid advertising, website management, and e-commerce. Working directly with companies helps me understand real business challenges and how digital marketing can provide effective and meaningful solutions. The program is highly innovative and progressive. We are exploring different aspects of AI and emerging technologies which have broadened our perspective and will definitely be of use in our future roles within society. Also, we have opportunities to attend the conferences with speakers from well-known companies.
This allows us to learn from their experiences and get inspired. Although the course is intense and challenging, at the same time it is incredibly rewarding. At DCU, I feel like I am mastering what I once improvised and gaining the skills and confidence I need for my future career. I am truly thankful to DCU and the donors of the John Thompson Memorial Scholarship for supporting me and enabling me to pursue my future goals and ambitions.
