Karl O’Brien, Co-Founder StoreHero – Source pre-seed round from angel investors & Enterprise Ireland
Karl is the co-founder of StoreHero, profit-focused analytics tool for e-commerce store owners. Instead of monitoring multiple sales and marketing channels and waiting until the end of the month to hear from the accountant on what profit was made, StoreHero gives store owners a clear view of their sales, marketing and profitability data in one place. With this, stores have more clarity and confidence, making better decisions and minimising unprofitable sales and marketing activities.
The business has been bootstrapped to date and has just closed a €600k pre-seed round from angel investors and enterprise Ireland. Karl’s background is on the agency side, having ran a digital marketing agency Effector based in Dublin over the last 8 years, having started the agency while studying Marketing, Innovation & Technology in DCU and completed the 3rd year placement working for himself. His co-founder Thomas Gleeson is ex-Shopify having worked with some of the largest Shopify brands across Europe in his time there from $1-$100M in revenue. He also has a family background in e-commerce.
Profitability is a massive issue for a lot of e-commerce business who have rode the wave of COVID but due to increases in ad costs alongside other supply chain issues, they don’t have a clear view of their profitability per product or per order. StoreHero is aiming to help solve this in a clear, easy to understand way.
