The Graduate Certificate in Financial Intelligence and Technology is delivered by DCU Business School in association with IFS Skillnet and is designed for people who want to add modern financial techniques and innovation expertise to their existing finance experience.

This level 9, postgraduate programme is provided through online distance learning, which means that students can achieve a deeper understanding in a specialist area and provide a sound basis for their long-term career, without disruption to their career or other commitments.

This progamme comprises four stand-alone microcredentials, each worth 7.5 credits, which can be taken individually or as a block to achieve the Graduate Certificate.

IFS Skillnet is co-funded by Skillnet Ireland and member companies. Its aim is to support the financial services sector in maintaining Ireland’s position as a top international financial services centre, through ongoing investment in the development of the skills and expertise of this workforce.  As such there are a limited number of places on each Micro-Credential course available with IFS Skillnet funding.

The first of these Micro-Credentials is the ‘Data Science for Finance‘ module, taking place online over 9 weeks on a Wednesday evening, from 7pm – 8.30pm, September to December 2023.

Module Description:

Data Science for Finance

This Micro-Credential covers the nature and approaches of data science and, in particular, will approach finance through an immersion in Python coding. Python is the most popular language of data science and this module will bring you from the very basics of coding in Python through to advanced techniques for understanding financial data. The module is relevant to anyone wishing to acquire or deepen their knowledge of the subject matter. Employees working with financial data will particularly benefit.
