As part of the MSc in Marketing there is an exciting opportunity for three students to spend a fully credited semester at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Vishnu Kumar is a current student on the MSc in Marketing Programme here in DCU, who recently came back from his semester abroad in Illinois. Here’s what he thought:
“As an MSc in Marketing student, I had plenty of great opportunities to learn and develop many of my skill-sets. I was very fortunate to be given an opportunity to do the second semester of my masters in University of Illinois, Champaign. Studying abroad in America has been a fulfillment of a dream. I had the chance to study abroad in America and this introduced me to ideas, cultures, concepts and people I otherwise would not have encountered anytime soon. I would describe my experience as nothing but magnificent.
All of the modules I did were highly relevant and I was fortunate to work with some high profile American companies as part of the course. I believe that my semester aboard provided me with endless opportunities to accomplish goals from both personal and academic perspective. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in University of Illinois as I experienced marketing from a different cultural perspective where the markets and consumers are different to what it is over here. I would take away this experience towards my future as I feel that I am prepared well for the working world from the insights I have gained from my semester abroad.
