The Programme Management Team

The Programme Management Team lie at the heart of programme administration and is responsible for administrative tasks, processes relating to the delivery of programmes and actively supporting programme chairs. Some key functions include academic programme development and management, exam administration, programme board administration and timetabling, to name a few. The Programme Management Team also provide a key point of interface between the School,  central administrative departments and decision-making bodies, and has responsibility for the implementation of many aspects of University and School policies and procedures. Much of the work completed by the team includes large scale projects which require a focused team approach, a high level of attention to detail and a continuous improvement plan.

Some statistics for this current academic year regarding their work includes:

  • Managing the Academic Structure process for the Business School’s suite of programmes, which entails maintaining the accuracy of 23,271 fields of data relating to the architecture of programme and module information stored on ITS (Student Record System).
  • The production of 55 timetables for the School, including the scheduling of 909 modules with an associated 894 activities, taking account of University constraints such as multi-campus delivery, space, room resources and an ever increasing student body, to produce a an optimum timetable, in so far as possible.
  • 29,470 the number of exam and continuous assessment module elements that the team will upload and validate throughout the three diets of examinations in the Academic Year.
  • 5000, the number of generic University wide emails that are generated in any given diet of examinations, which the Programme Management Team must review, decipher and decide if it relates to the Business School, prior to uploading any module mark.
  • 350 the number of ERC and PAB meetings that are convened and administered by the team throughout the academic year.
  • 44 the number of Programme Boards that the team will administer, record, manage the documentation for and manage follow up activities.
