DCU Business School Gears Up for Applied Consultancy Project Launch Day on 3 February
Dublin City University (DCU) Business School is pleased to announce that the Applied Consultancy Project Launch Day will take place on 3 February 2026 at the DCU Business School. This event marks the beginning of one of the School’s flagship experiential learning modules, bringing together top master’s students and organisational partners to tackle real-world business challenges.
The Applied Consultancy Project is a signature capstone experience within DCU’s master’s programmes, designed to connect diverse teams of students with client organisations — from private enterprises to government bodies and social enterprises — to work on strategic, operational, or growth-oriented challenges. Students are placed in teams of 4–5 and, under the guidance of experienced academic supervisors, apply their business knowledge, analytical skills, and creativity to deliver actionable insights and recommendations.
Introducing the Academic Lead: Professor Pierangelo Rosati
This module is led by Professor Pierangelo Rosati, the newly appointed academic lead for the Applied Consultancy Project. Prof Rosati is Professor in Management at DCU Business School, where he specialises in digital business, analytics, and industry-engaged learning.
His work bridges research, teaching and practice, supporting organisations navigating digital transformation and the effective, responsible adoption of emerging technologies. Prof Rosati’s research spans topics such as business analytics, cybersecurity, digital sustainability, and the business value of technology, and has been published in leading international journals. He is a Series Editor of the Palgrave Studies in Digital Business & Enabling Technologies book series and a Senior Editor of the peer-reviewed journal Information Technology & People.
Prof Rosati’s appointment reflects DCU Business School’s commitment to strengthening the applied learning experience and deepening engagement between students, faculty, and industry.
What to Expect on Launch Day
Launch Day will officially kick off the Applied Consultancy Project for 2026. Representatives from participating organisations will meet their assigned student teams, clarify project scopes, and begin the collaborative journey that will unfold over the coming months. This session will set the stage for students to begin research, analysis, and solution development tailored to each client’s unique business context — a process culminating in a final report and presentation of findings.
