DCU hosts China Europe Cross-Border E-commerce Symposium
DCU was pleased to host the DCU-CIECC China Europe Cross-Border e-commerce symposium on May 21-23.
The China International Electronic Commerce Centre (CIECC) is the informationalisation construction institute of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China. It is responsible for the construction and operation of key projects of national information construction. It takes responsibility to promote the development and application of electronic commerce in China and to promote international cooperation in electronic commerce and foreign trade.
The symposium was organised by DCU Business School in conjunction with the Irish Centre for Cloud Computing and Commerce (IC4) and included seminars on a diverse range of topics including European e-commerce overview, digital business, data protection, payments and security. The programme also included company visits and discussions on leading edge issues in cloud computing and e-commerce.
During the visit, a partnership agreement was signed, outlining plans for future collaboration. Speaking at the symposium, the Executive Dean of DCU Business School, Professor Anne Sinnott, strongly welcomed the partnership with CIECC and the opportunities it presents for further industry engagement and international collaboration.
