MARGISTAR Annual Meeting
DCU Business School was proud to host the esteemed MARGISTAR Annual Meeting on April 17th and 18th, 2024.
MARGISTAR stands as a beacon of collaboration, bringing together diverse perspectives from scientists, stakeholders, and policymakers. At its core, MARGISTAR is more than just a forum; it’s a dynamic platform dedicated to addressing the multifaceted sustainability challenges that confront mountainous regions worldwide. These challenges encompass environmental conservation, socio-economic development, cultural preservation, and beyond.
As a research partner of DCU through the Irish Institute of Digital Business (dotLAB), MARGISTAR plays a pivotal role in fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and fostering actionable solutions. Through its collaborative efforts, MARGISTAR seeks to bridge the gap between academic research and practical implementation, ensuring that insights gleaned from scientific inquiry translate into tangible benefits for communities nestled in mountainous terrains.
The Annual Meeting served as a nexus of knowledge exchange, where participants delved into project updates, reviewed past achievements, and charted the course for future endeavors. Working Groups convened to explore innovative approaches, while plans for self-organized projects and upcoming initiatives, such as the training school and policy brief, took center stage.
