Enrolling in this module has been a hugely valuable experience for me. It has provided me with a wealth of knowledge regarding the regulatory landscape of the aviation industry and the potential challenges that my company may face. I now feel confident to navigate and tackle these challenges head on. One aspect of the Micro-Credential that particularly stood out to me was the assignment. It proved to be a practical and insightful exercise that directly applied to my current role. In fact, I implemented the assignment brief within my own company upon completing the module!
Transformative Learning: Shauna’s Review of the Sustainable Aviation and Green Innovation Micro-Credential
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the module. It definitely exceeded my expectations in terms of the knowledge and skills I gained. The hybrid approach, with two days on campus and the remaining lectures delivered online over 5 weeks, was a perfect balance that allowed me to effectively manage the course alongside my other commitments. This Micro-Credential also had the added benefit of on-campus classes, which facilitated in-person networking with my classmates and industry experts.
The classes themselves were really interactive and included engaging discussions and debates that really added to the learning experience. As well as this, the guest lectures within the module were fantastic, we heard from industry experts such as Thomas Fowler, Director of Sustainability and Finance at Ryanair and Mark Breen, CEO of the Dominican Republic national carrier AraJet and DCU PhD student on SAF to name just a few.
Marina, the program chair, was not only very approachable but she even managed to make the regulatory and policy aspects of the Micro-Credential interesting. I would highly recommend this module to industry professionals! If you’re thinking about it, just do it, you wont regret it.
